Dubai’s Crown Prince, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, has given the green light for a transformative project aimed at enhancing the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route. With a budget of AED 390 million, the development, slated for completion by 2028, is designed to enrich visitor experiences through attractions such as kayaking, safaris, open-air cinemas, and hot air balloon rides.
The Scenic Route will feature five distinct visitor stations and nearly 98 kilometres of cycling paths, accompanied by a luxury outdoor cinema located near the last exit. Here, visitors can enjoy films under the stars in marquee-style seating. Among the highlights, the Wildlife Station will offer hot air balloon rides, luxury camping spots, and elevated trails connecting three lakes: Love, Qudra, and Flamingo.
In addition, the Adventure Station will include a dedicated park for activities and fitness trails, along with a sandy loop around Expo Lake for cycling and walking. Visitors will find budget-friendly camps and eateries along this route as well. At the Cultural Experience Station, a traditional majlis setting will give visitors an authentic taste of local culture, with camel rides, desert explorations, and traditional cuisine on offer. Lastly, the Desert Adventure Station promises adrenaline-fuelled options like dune climbing, desert cycling, sandboarding, and safari tours.
Sheikh Hamdan stated:
“The master plan for the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route and Dubai Countryside and Rural Areas Development Projects reflects the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to transform Dubai’s rural areas and countryside to be among the best, most beautiful, and enjoyable for all. This contributes to solidifying the emirate’s position as an ideal destination to live and work, as well as a preferred attraction for visitors from around the world.
We have approved the development of several facilities, along with increasing activities, events, and services within the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route project to boost tourist numbers from around half a million annually currently to over three million visitors by 2040. This will enhance the area’s position as one of Dubai’s main tourist destinations while expanding investment opportunities for locals and preserving the region’s unique nature and identity.”
