DLD Collaborates with 9 Developers: Initial Phase

The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has taken a prominent step towards enhancing the real estate sector’s development through a series of strategic partnerships with nine leading developers. This initiative, marking the first phase of the ‘Dubai Real Estate Programme,’ is aimed at cultivating a skilled workforce proficient in ethical practices and principles, thereby spearheading growth and innovation within the industry.

The collaboration was formalised through agreements signed by Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of DLD, and representatives from top real estate companies, including Emaar Properties, Expo Dubai, Deyaar, DAMAC Properties, Azizi Developments, MAG, Sobha Realty, Ellington Properties, and Al Bait Al Duwaliy Real Estate Development. This move sets the stage for future partnerships with other key players in Dubai’s real estate market, further enhancing the sector’s talent pool.

The core objective of these alliances is to bolster the role of Emirati professionals in the real estate domain by fostering competitive skills and facilitating their involvement in high-quality real estate projects. This includes a commitment to allocate between 10% and 15% of project sales to Emirati brokers, in addition to creating job opportunities in line with existing labour laws, empowering local talent.

Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita highlighted the alliance’s role in achieving the Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme’s goals, which focus on increasing citizen participation in the market. This initiative is a testament to DLD’s commitment to following the leadership’s vision of empowering citizens and nurturing national talent as outlined in the Dubai Social Agenda 2033 and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

This partnership will also see the DLD working on joint projects aimed at propelling the real estate sector forward, promoting a culture of innovation and sustainability, and providing professional training and support to nurture national talent in the private sector, thereby encouraging them to establish their ventures in the real estate market.
