Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant project aimed at improving road infrastructure in 19 residential neighbourhoods, spanning a total distance of 11.5 kilometres.
The initiative focuses on upgrades to traffic systems, the addition of roadside parking, enhancements to sidewalks, and improved street lighting.
This development is part of RTA’s broader strategy to accommodate Dubai’s urban expansion and increasing population. It aims to enhance road safety, optimise travel efficiency, and improve overall quality of life for residents.
Once completed, the upgraded roads are expected to ease accessibility, facilitate smoother traffic flow, and cut travel times by up to 40%.
The areas set to benefit from these improvements include Al Khawaneej 1, Al Barsha South 1, Nad Shamma, Jumeirah 1, Zabeel 1, Al Rashidiya, Muhaisnah 1, Al Barsha 1, Al Hudaiba, Al Quoz 1, Al Quoz 3, Al Qusais 2, Al Satwa, Al Twar 1, Mirdif, Umm Al Ramool, Umm Suqeim 1, Al Mizhar 1, and Al Mizhar 2.
The project is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026.
