Dubai Mall to grow with Emaar’s AED 1.5 billion expansion plan

Emaar Properties has unveiled plans for a major AED 1.5 billion expansion of Dubai Mall, set to add 240 new luxury stores and food and beverage outlets. Contractors have already begun  this significant project.

Mohamed Alabbar, making the announcement, said that the new Dubai Mall expansion is a great addition to one of the most visited sites in the world. It reflects Dubai’s ambitious vision to remain at the forefront of global innovation and culture, further solidifying the city’s position as a top global destination.

In 2023, Dubai Mall achieved a new milestone, becoming the most visited place on Earth with 105 million visitors, a 19% increase from the previous year.

Currently the world’s second-largest shopping mall, Dubai Mall covers 1.2 million square metres and houses over 1,200 retail outlets.

Additionally, Emaar’s founder previously revealed plans for a drive-through mall in Dubai Creek Harbor. This development will include a unique tower dubbed the “female Burj Khalifa,” adding another landmark to Dubai’s skyline.
